Who designed the euro symbol

It was designed by Artur Eisenmenger, the former chief painter and calligrapher of Luxembourg’s official publishing agency.

As early as the end of 1974, he was commissioned to draw designs related to Europe, including the design of a single symbol for Europe.

It was not until 1997 that Eisenmenger was surprised to see on television that the single new symbol for Europe presented to the public by the President of the European Commission, Mr Santer, was actually his work 20 years ago.
